ITSA and it’s local partner, Computers For Zambian Schools (CFZS), continue to support the teacher-training programme in Zambia, delivered by CFZS at Chikuni Girls Secondary School in Monze District. The programme is focused on increasing the number of teachers who can effectively use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to enhance lesson delivery and improve students’ digital education.
During the year, 55 additional teachers completed the training, bringing the total number of teachers trained since the programme began to 927. This achievement reflects a continued commitment to strengthening digital literacy and educational outcomes in schools across the region. The five-day immersive training programme equips teachers from all subject areas with the practical skills and confidence needed to integrate technology into their teaching. Through a combination of hands-on learning and technical training, participants develop their digital competencies and learn how to make more effective use of ICT in the classroom.
Key areas of training include: Practical use of computers, computer security and preventative maintenance, basic computer troubleshooting and repair, essential software skills, including: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Zoom.
By empowering teachers with these vital ICT skills, the programme helps create more engaging and effective learning environments while preparing students for an increasingly digital world.
